About
Hey, I’m,,, well, Olivia.
Odds are you are here because I gave you my email address, or you tried finding out more information about me online somehow.
I feel like most people who come here are people I’m at least acquaintances with? I really don’t know though. Who are you? You’re asking me who I am, and here I am, asking you who you are.
We’ll get back to that.
Actually, I think most people who end up here might not be human people, and robots instead. Is that you? Are you a computer program, wandering the web, and working for a human? Let me know.
I hope you had a good morning.
We say that a lot to each other. “Good morning!”
Mornings are such beautiful things! The sun is shining, most are waking up and starting something fresh and familiar.
I guess the sun often doesn’t shine. It is for me as I’m writing this though! And it is morning.
In the morning, the day is still growing, it has taken root, and it still could grow to be so many things! Fresh. And familiar.
Do robots have mornings? They must, right?
Mornings are good.
I like coffee in the morning. Actually, I don’t know what I like more: the coffee, or the ritual of making the coffee? I love the smell of fresh coffee and the familiar motions I’m doing.
Identities are an interesting thing. About pages are the first thing I click when I go to a friend’s blog. They show me my friend, or acquaintance, or stranger in a fresh way. It’s such a familiar moment. Go to a blog. Read an article. Click “About”.
We know the deal here, the point of this whole thing is for me to tell you a bit about how I want to present myself to the Whole Word(tm).
I get to choose how I do that here! Like this really is under my control. Mine, and just mine. I can say whatever I want, make it silly and serious, bland and pretty, extensive and concise. Fresh… and familiar.
It’s one of the few places where I can set my identity for everyone to see, and I’m fully in control of every aspect of it.
Oh the power of having my own space.
I should actually tell you a little about myself.
I’ve had the luck and privilege of being without significant health issues over the last few decades, able to do manual labor when needed, and with a mind that can keep up with most conversations. I try really hard to be kind to most people, and curious about most things.
I hope that after interacting with me, people feel a little better about their day and their life. This is a really deep value of mine. I believe I frequently succeed, but I know I don’t always.
I like making people feel seen and heard.
And I would like to hear from you. Write as much as you want, but I would love to know, in a sentence or two, who you are. I really want that actually. Seriously. Even if we don’t know each other.
If you’re going to write nothing else, can you give me a sentence about your latest morning. Was it fresh and familiar?
I appreciate you <3
