Notes home
This is my home for my notes. It’s very much a work-in-progress, but that’s the point! I won’t write more blog posts.
Art
I translated Tu vas me quitter encore longtemps, a popular French song which resonated with me for a while. I didn’t think anyone did a particularly good job at it, so I gave it a crack. I think I did fine, I certainly focused more on keeping the extended metaphor alive.
I wrote a poem in high school that I really like: I Thought I Ought To Be A Bee.
I wrote something that kinda feels like a sermon: On faith and forgiveness. It certainly was very meaningful at the time. I have a bunch of edits I wanna make to it, but it certainly has something interesting to say.
Are you trying to find a coop in Somerville?

Software engineering
When was this written?I used to teach computer science, and worked as a software engineer. I no longer center my life around computers though. At some point, I was a graduate student focused on how people thought about code. The writing is mostly from that era.
I think that Code is written for humans, not computers, and that more broadly, Code is an act of rhetoric.
I’ve written a little bit about various ideas I have around coding:
Filesystems
I’m turning some of my lesson plans into collections of notes, starting with filesystems. In particular, I started with what I think is the point of filesystems: Filesystems turn one big array into many small ones.
